On the early afternoon of June 27, 2019, Ambassador Hervé Denis hosted members and staffers of the Haitian diplomatic service for a private luncheon at the residence. The afternoon was organized as an effort to reconnect with those who service the Haitian community and represent the State. For the occasion, Ambassador Denis invited the Heads of the Haitian consulates in the United States and other representatives of the country, such as Ms. Ketleen Florestal, Adviser to the Administrator for Haiti at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, Mr. Alfred Metellus, Counselor for the Office of Argentina and Haiti and many more. Also present were a number of staffers from the Embassy and the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the Organization of American States (OAS).

The luncheon’s menu was uniquely curated by award-winning Chef Dimitri Lilavois and featured an array of Haitian delicacies. To start, the guests were served the Embassy Chef Award winning dish “La Révolution / The Revolution”, a delicate roasted pumpkin purée topped with lobster and smoked bacon. For the entrées, a young roasted hen with caramelized plantains, tomato/cucumber salad, avocado, mousse, a Seared snapper with djon djon bulgar wheat, coconut beurre blanc (entrée option 2). The Chef closed his exquisite ensemble with a passion fruit cheesecake champagne for dessert. The lovely sunny afternoon ended with the remarks by Ambassador Denis as he thanked the guests for their unwavering support and continued service to a country that is rich in spirit, history and legacy.
