Born in Limbe, Haiti, Francois started painting at the age of seven. He was inspired by his uncle Pierre and guided by Marcel St. Vil, the Obin’s and the Wah brothers. Later on, Francois completed his Medical career with a specialization in Ophthalmology at the University of Sevilla in Cadiz, Spain.

After more than 50 years away from his native country, his passion for art eclipsed almost everything. With the help of a sharp visual memory, Francois strives to keep his Caribbean country “up close and personal.” He unfolds in front of us the misfortune, the joy, the sweat, the dignity and the history of his Haitian people. His vivid and realistic still lifes, his country landscapes, and his portraits and sculptures have raised the admiration of art lovers and art collectors all over the world.

He has participated in countless exhibitions in Haiti, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. A combination of Neoclassicism, Lyrical Romanticism and Symbolism, define his artistic expression.

Tout depend de mon état d’âme
