Happy Haitian Independence Day

January 1, 1804 – January 1, 2019 marks the 215th anniversary of Haiti’s independence establishing the country as the first black free nation in the world.  On this solemn day, the Embassy of Haiti in Washington, DC pays a special tribute to our ancestors who overcame one of the greatest triumphs in the history of mankind. We also seize the opportunity to wish our Haitian compatriots and friends a happy independence celebration and a very happy new year.   Premye janvye 1804 – Premye janvye 2019 make desan kenzyèm anivèsè endepandans peyi d Ayiti ki se premye pèp nwa endepandan nan mond la.
