THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA PUBLISHES FEDERAL REGISTRATION NOTICE TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS (TPS) ELIGIBILITY FOR HAITIAN NATIONALS WHO HAVE BEEN PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES ON OR BEFORE JULY 29, 2021
Washington, D.C. (July 29, 2021) – The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti to the United States of America wishes to inform the public that on May 21, 2021, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) redesignated the Republic of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months, through February 3, 2023. This designation allows eligible Haitian nationals (and individuals having no nationality who last habitually resided in Haiti) who have continuously resided in the United States, and who have been continuously physically present in the United States to apply for TPS up to July 29, 2021.
The TPS registration process is open from August 3, 2021 to February 3, 2023. All individuals who meet the criteria and who wish to obtain TPS must file an application. The applicant must have been continuously residing in the U.S, on or before July 29, 2021. When applying for TPS with Form I-821, prospective beneficiaries can also request Employment Authorization by, simultaneously, submitting Form I-715.

Washington, D.C. le 29 juillet 2021. – L’Ambassade de la République d’Haïti aux États-Unis d’Amérique souhaite informer le public que le 21 mai 2021, le Département de la Sécurité intérieure (DHS) des États-Unis d’Amérique a désigné Haïti une fois de plus, comme pays dont les ressortissants peuvent bénéficier du Statut de Protection Temporaire (TPS) pour 18 mois, jusqu’au 3 février 2023. Cette désignation permet aux citoyens haïtiens éligibles (et aux personnes sans nationalité qui, avant de séjourner aux États-Unis d’Amérique, ont résidé dernièrement en Haïti), et qui ont été physiquement présents, de façon continue, aux États-Unis avant et jusqu’à la date butoir du 29 juillet 2021, d’adresser leur demande de TPS.
Le processus d’inscription au TPS est ouvert du 3 août 2021 au 3 février 2023. Toutes personnes répondant aux critères et souhaitant obtenir le TPS doivent postuler. Au moment de la soumission du dossier pour le TPS comportant le formulaire I-821, ceux et celles désireux de travailler peuvent également solliciter une autorisation d’emploi en remplissant aussi le formulaire I-715.
