altidor haiti cherieOn February 28, Ambassador Altidor was honored at the 4th Annual Haiti Cherie Pride, Love, and Commitment in New York City. During his remarks the Ambassador encouraged the attendees to explore investment opportunities in Haiti and to plan the next Haiti Cherie event in Haiti.

Haiti Cherie began as the public birthday celebration for Philanthropist Fabrice J. Armand to raise funds for charities rebuilding his native Haiti. Since 2010 he has worked to raise awareness of Haitian grassroots organizations making a significant impact in Haiti.

Haiti Cherie was founded as a way to showcase the true beauty of Haiti, its culture, not the Haiti that is usually plagued by the media. It also serves as a way to raise money for organizations that are creating sustainable change in the country. During the event, the organization honors Haitians and Haitian-Americans who have achieved significant success in their fields and serve as beacon of light through their hard work and dedication.
