Boards and Commissions

The City of Fresno has several boards and commissions that provide guidance and recommendations to the City Council. These include the Planning Commission, Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission, Finance Committee, and others. The members of these groups are appointed by the City Council and serve in a voluntary capacity. Meetings are held on a regular basis and are open to the public. City Manager

The City Manager is the chief executive officer of the city government and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the city. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and serves at its pleasure. The City Manager’s Office provides administrative support to the City Council and all city departments.

City Departments

The Fresno City has several departments that provide a wide range of services to residents and businesses. These include the Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works, Community Development, and more.
