Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington

mlkjrUnder a steady rain, thousands of people gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech. Haiti's Ambassador to the United States, Paul G. Altidor, was among the invited guests. “On the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, we, as Haitians and Haitian-Americans, are mindful of the progress made because of the Civil Rights Movement” said Ambassador Altidor, who along with Civil Rights leaders, Hollywood celebrities, Members of Congress, and former U.S. Presidents joined President Obama to pay homage to Dr. King’s legacy and mark this historic event.
